PWNDTIAC

PWNDTIAC of Leipzig, Germany.  I have been plugging him in while I jog around Pontiac, Michigan.  Electro with a splash of trash and a raw driving pulse.

Mount Kimbie

Mount Kimbie is somewhere in between Detroit Techno and Dub-step, or maybe the perfect blend of. The music beats with an African heart, that subtly underlies the complex soundscapes made with modern technology. It's deep and soulful at its core with intertwining motifs of optimism, scratching at its outer edges, which creates a large musical dimension in which your mind is invited in to explore. The whole time the hypnotic beat slowly lifts away your self awareness, leaving you contently bouncing back and forth in your seat, marinating in some Mount Kimbie!

I can't tell you much about the poster to the left due to the fact that almost everything that comes up when you google it is in Italian. From what I was able to gather is that it is the poster for a multimedia festival, in Avellino, Italy, devoted to digital art; and I like it, a lot!

Indian Summer - Tycho

Tycho, aka Scott Hansen of San Francisco will blow you into an ephemeral groove with nearly anything that he does.  Tycho can lead you onto a foggy pier of contentment and then melt you with the sun of a new morning.   You see your soul rise from your body like the tawny leaves depart from their trembling branches and swirl into the breeze.  It's perfect music to listen to as the orange sun caresses the northern fringe with the last lingers of its warm fingers.  This music is penetratively deep.  It moves emotion through me like the puddling of rainwater.  Call it sonic landscaping, chill, or psychotherapeutic purification.  He is one of the best.  Enjoy the sampling.

Street Vibes

J Dilla is a Detroit born hip-hop producer who tragically passed at the young age of 32. Jay , as he is also known, is considered by many as one of the most influential Hip Hop producers of his time. The collection of songs below came of his final album "Donuts" released three days before his death.

DETROIT BEATDOWN

“Detroit Beatdown” is named after a slowed-down, raw but groovy, deep and jazzy soul driven artistic adaptation of Detroit dance music. The motor city touts the claim to being the birth of “techno” (keeping sure the distinction between ‘techno’ and ‘electronic music’) and these guys hearken back to the glory days with this mix. However, it is the unique cross-genre exploration which represents the creative pulse in Detroit’s current electronic underworld that is perfected here. These are the types of sounds heard at funky late night after-parties. The trio of Mike Clark, Norm Talley and Delano Smith keep your head bouncing and your brain stimulated.

Below is a sample of the mix they did for Resident Advisor.
